Fanpod® supplies and integrates control valves for process systems where flow, pressure, level, or temperature must be regulated accurately. Overview

A control valve is not selected only by pipe size. It is selected by process behavior. The valve must provide stable modulation across the required operating range without oversizing, hunting, excessive noise, cavitation, flashing, erosion, or poor low-flow control. In steam and thermal utility systems, correct control valve sizing has a direct influence on product temperature stability, energy consumption, safety, and plant availability.

Fanpod supplies control valves for steam, hot water, chilled water, glycol, clean utilities, and selected hygienic process duties. In a pasteurizer, for example, a steam control valve regulates heat input to maintain the exact product outlet temperature. In a chilled water system, a modulating valve controls cooling energy to stabilize a tank jacket or plate heat exchanger. In a CIP system, control valves may regulate temperature, flow, or pressure to maintain repeatable cleaning results.

The control valve package typically includes the valve body, trim, actuator, positioner, and accessories. Depending on the system, this may include pneumatic actuation with an electro-pneumatic positioner, electric actuation, smart diagnostics, air filter regulator, solenoid valve, position feedback, limit switches, pressure balancing, or fail-safe action. Why Proper Sizing Matters

A control valve that is too large may open only a few percent during normal operation, creating unstable control and poor resolution. A valve that is too small may not pass enough flow at peak demand. Incorrect trim selection can lead to noise, erosion, cavitation, flashing, vibration, or premature wear. In steam service, wrong sizing can cause water hammer, unstable heat transfer, seat damage, or poor temperature response.

For this reason, Fanpod reviews process data before proposing a valve. Required information normally includes fluid type, inlet pressure, outlet pressure, flow rate minimum and maximum, temperature, pipe size, connection standard, control signal, fail position, installation location, and whether the valve controls pressure, flow, level, or temperature. For steam applications, condensate handling and steam quality should also be considered. For chilled water and glycol, pressure drop and valve authority are essential to stable control.

In projects involving Fanpod-fabricated equipment, such as tanks, tubular heat exchangers, shell and tube heat exchangers, PHE frames, filter housings, and process skids, control valve selection can be coordinated with the mechanical design. This reduces interface problems and helps the system operate as a complete engineered package.
